How many puppies does a siberian husky normally have the first time she has puppies?

It depends on a number of factors. How strong the sire's sperm was. How old she is. If she was in heat for the first time when she was bred or not. How big she is. How big the sire is.

I had a female husky that had been in heat for 3 cycles before I bred her and she had 7 pups her first time. The 2nd time she had 10.
A husky my friend had had been in heat for 2 cycles a was on the smaller size as was her mate. She only had 4 pups.

By taking the animal to a vet at about 2/3's into the pregnancy, roughly about 4 weeks after she was bred, they should be able to X-Ray the animal and check for puppies. Sometimes when are about 4-5 weeks along, you can feel the puppies. And if you watch carefully, you can sometimes see the puppies moving or feel them if you leave your hand on the uterus area.

So basically there is no 'set' number of puppies that she can have. Even with a vet its a best guesstimate.

Don't forget to have towels and newspaper ready for when she gives birth. Once she is totally done with birthing, they you should totally exchange all the bedding in there for clean bedding as it WILL be messing and a tad stinky.

Good luck.

I don't know about the breed but dogs usually have 5 to 6 pups at a time.
