My 11 Week Old Siberian Husky Pup Seems to Have Pudding Poop and Times Solid Poop?

I feed him three times a day with the required amount of food. Could it be food allergies
His still very playful and energetic and his always willing to eat. His been dewormed twice already. But I do give him chewy treats when I train him, I will try to see if hard treats are better. Thanx for all your anwsers. Hope to get more

Is he acting unusual in any other way, e.g. lethargic, not eating, not drinking, etc?

If so, take him to the vets.

If not, has he been wormed recently? If he hasn’t, I would suggest you worm him.

If he has, just keep an eye on him. It might just be something he ate at the time and it has passed now.

Diarrhea can be caused by numerous things ranging from parasites (worms or giardia) to food intolerances. I would talk to your vet about checking for parasites as the first step towards diagnosing the problem.

i have had the same problem with my now almost 12 weeks old lab puppy.

first of all, did you change his food recently? if not, then it could be the treat. for my puppy, i figured when i gave him soft chewy treats, he would have loose stool. after 2 weeks i stopped giving him those treats and his poops were more solid. then i started giving him hard treats and the problem did not arise. i asked the vet if certain dogs are prone to have sensitive stomach towards soft chewy treats, she said yes. just like some dogs will have loose stool when being fed with wet canned food.

my vet also suggested that some dogs are sensitive to lamb even they love food with lamb as an ingredient. chicken is better for them.

Loose stools can be caused by numerous things. Some things you should consider is how much food is:

    1. How much food are you feeding him compared to the breeder? If you have increased the amount of food this could be the cause as he is not yet use to it.

    2. Are you feeding the pup the same type of food as the breeder was? Switching between brands/food types to quickly can cause loose stools. To switch between brand/type without this problem you should gradually increase the amount of the food you are switching to over the course of a few weeks. I’m currently switching my 10 week pup from Puppy Chow (Breeders choice as its available everywhere) to Solid Gold’s Wolf Cub. I brought the puppy home at 7 weeks and over the course of 3 weeks have just progressed to where he is receiving half Puppy Chow half Wolf Cub (Depending on the quantity I feed him he may still have loose stools).

    3. Try not giving him treats for awhile. Instead (I’m assuming your feeding dry food as he shouldn’t be eating anything besides this at this point) try using a piece or two of his dry food as the treat. I’ve raised 3 other huskies and even though I knew better I gave my pup a nylabone rawhide a few nights ago and he had this problem as a result.

    4. See a vet to get suggestions from him (I recommed doing all these things but also seeing the vet). The vet should make sure he worm free and you can ask for a recommedation on how much food you should be feeding.

    5. If you are walking him pay close attention to what he gets in his mouth during the walk. For example my new pup loves eating bugs, grapes, blue berries, pears well pretty much anything around the garden. If you notice the pup doing this start working on the drop command.

    6. Speak with the breeder. Any reputable breeder should be more than happy to help you with this and discuss possible causes/solutions.

Hopefully this will help some as its just a few quick suggestions I could think of off the top of my head. Anytime you’ve got questions feel free to ask and I’ll try to help.
