Huskies have a medium size head with a muzzle that is equal in length to the skull. The nose is defined and the color depends upon the color of the coat. It is flesh-colored in white dogs, liver colored in copper dogs and it is black in grey, black or tan dogs.
The husky eyes are oval, well spaced and come in blue, brown, amber or a combination of these colors…eyes can be part blue and part brown or one blue eye and one brown eye. The ears are always erect and in a triangular shape.
A scissor bite describes the teeth and the tail is carried in a sickle shape over the back. When the husky is excited, the curve disappears. The feet are large and have hair between the toes to keep them warm in snow and work well for gripping ice.
The husky coat is very thick and can withstand temperatures as low as -60 to 75 degrees F. This coat is double thick with a medium length. The underbody and face mask are usually white and the remaining colors can be any color from black to pure white.
Some of the common colors are dark grey and white, red-orange with black tips, sable and white, black and white, red and white, brown, grey, white, silver and wolf grey.
